Hi there, this is MANO from IKB.

I’ve been to Iriomote Island last weekend, and it was GREAT.

A border between the sky and ocean was gone…

Unfortunately, we’ve only seen a blue sky once while the tour due to the rainy season.

Young Stout Chromis (Chromis chrysura) and male Stocky Anthias (Pseudanthias hypselosoma Bleeker)

But, when we dived into the ocean, such weather didn’t matter at all!

Everyone’s favorite “Spotted Garden Eel”

Spotted garden eels are too common to introduce in Okinawa.

Ocellaris (left), Tomato (above), and Yellow (below) clownfishes

Among six species of crown fish that can be seen in Japan, we could see four of them this time^^

A coral paradise, called “Secret Garden”

Iriomote Island is famous for its coral reefs.

You can see various kinds of unique corals here.

A maaaaaanta ray passes, adrenaline rushes.

Lucky us! 4 manta rays showed up!!

Boar sashimi (upper left), ”Satapanbin” Icecream (upper right), “Kokushi” rice & “Soki” soba (lower left), “Jimami” tofu and brown sugar pizza (lower right)

After the diving, it’s happy yum yum time with Okinawa foods☆

Let’s challenge kayaking!

On the last day of the trip, we enjoyed mangrove kayaking.

Mangrove forests in Iriomote consist of three different kinds of mangrove trees.

Did you know that a word “mangrove (in Japanese)” isn’t a name of these trees? By the way, I didn’t know lol

A mangrove seed on the branch drops, sticks into the sand, and sprouts.

Mangrove trees grow like this.

Happy faces 🙂

Say, cheeeese~~ in front of the Pinaisara Fall, the highest waterfall in Okinawa.

Thanks to the wonderful nature and people on the Island, we had so much fun!
The next  Mano-Omote tour will be on November 23-26, 2023.
Don’t miss it ;)!!
